It works as expected and also worked fine with my 6gb SAS drives (the manufacturer's site says it does, but that does always match reality as I found out with an iStarUSA unit). The unit itself and the trays seem very sturdy. The plastic locks on the trays are just to keep you from accidentally popping a drive out. They work, but they are pretty flimsy. All in all this is very good unit and I would certainly get it again. The only two reasons it has 4 instead of 5 stars is that:
1) The LEDs are incredibly bright. I had to put electrical tape over them.
2) The fan is pretty loud. This may not bother everyone, but I had to replace it with a quieter one to live with it next to me.
