I have 5 of these stacked and racked with 1 TB drives in each bay, daisy-chained on FireWire 800, and let me tell you, it's the only way to fly if you have mountains of data that you need online and accessible at all times. I'll be adding more and more of these as fast as I can. You can ignore what the specs say about drive capacities. This particular one, I believe states "up to 750 gb drives" in each bay. Well I'm over that and they run perfectly fine. The only downside I can find is while they're daisy-chained, all appliances in the chain must be running or there's no pass-thru, and only the ones in the chain up to the first one turned off will mount. You could eject the disks you don't want to run and leave the appliance on to get the pass-thru, but that's just extra work. So, it's sort of an energy waste if you don't want all of them on all the time. The other minor inconvenience is that the power buttons are in the back of the appliance, so getting to them involves going around to the back of the rack, unlocking the door, and firing up the utility light to get to them if need be. It could be seen as a feature though also, as it prevents accidentally flicking off power switches. Love these. 5 stars.
